How to Make Money Fast in Ride A Pet

Most players lose money by riding their fastest pet instead of their richest one. Income and speed are separate stats in Ride A Pet, and the income curve is far steeper than the speed curve.

1. Ride the income pet, not the fast pet

Income comes from the pet you are riding, so the pet you farm with should be chosen for base income first. The endgame income ladder is brutal: Phoenix earns 100,000, Cerberus 30 million, Kitsune 90 million and Dragon 300 million — the highest base income documented.

The Phoenix-to-Cerberus step alone is a 300x income increase. If your goal is money, Dragon is the long-term target; if your goal is reaching eggs, Kitsune's 1B speed wins.

The trap is more common than it sounds, because the fast pet is also the one you are already riding. Sorting the tier list by income rather than speed makes the gap obvious.

2. Use the friend boost before anything else

Inviting friends grants a money boost for playing together, and it is free. Community guides treat it as the single biggest early money multiplier — sort it out before you start optimising anything else.

It stacks with your rebirth Money Multiplier, so the two compound.

3. Level pets with the right food per coin

Higher-level pets provide better stats, and food is the only way to level them. Compare XP per coin rather than the XP number: Grass is 500 XP for $10 (50 XP per coin), Bone 10,000 XP for $1,500 (6.7 per coin), Magic Apple 300,000 XP for $7M (0.04 per coin) and Dragonfruit 1,000,000 XP for $30M (0.03 per coin).

Early on Grass is dramatically the cheapest way to level — about 1,600 times cheaper per XP than Dragonfruit. Late game, the bigger foods exist to save real time, not to save money. Full table on the gear page.

Note the one gap in the published data: Meat is priced at $30,000 but its XP value is not published, so it cannot be compared per coin and we do not guess it.

4. A worked income-per-coin example

Suppose you have $7M. Buying one Magic Apple gives 300,000 XP. Buying Grass instead gives 700,000 individual Grass purchases at 500 XP each — 350,000,000 XP for the same money.

That is roughly 1,166 times more XP for the same $7M, at the obvious cost of clicking buy 700,000 times. That trade — money against time — is the entire logic of the food ladder, and it is why the answer changes as your income grows.

Practical rule: use Grass while money is the constraint, and step up a tier only when the clicking is costing you more than the pet earns.

5. Rebirth when you can rebuild fast

Rebirth resets your Coins and your temporary Luck Multiplier, and permanently grants +1x Money Multiplier and +1 Pet Slot. It is not free progress — it takes your cash with it.

Only rebirth when you can rebuild to your previous level quickly. A good rebirth looks like: reset, grab upgrades, rebuild, and reach your old money level much faster than the first time. If it feels like starting the game over for no reason, you did it too early. Costs run from $1M with a Horse up to $15.6Qa with a Kitsune — see the rebirth table.

Each level also demands a specific pet, starting with a Horse and later requiring a Phoenix and then a Kitsune. That requirement chain is the real gate, and it is laid out in the rebirth guide.

6. What money should never buy

Not the wrong radar. A radar cannot be switched off, so a tier you are not farming is permanent screen clutter and a sunk cost. Buy in band order.

Not premium food while Grass is affordable. Not a mutation — those come from storms, and there is no purchase route documented.

And not speed for its own sake once you can already reach every spawn. Past roughly 100 million speed, extra speed saves seconds while income compounds — which is where the upgrade order guide takes over.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to make money in Ride A Pet?

Ride your highest-income pet, not your fastest, and enable the free friend boost first because it stacks with your rebirth Money Multiplier. Dragon has the highest documented income at 300 million, with Kitsune next at 90 million.

What is the best food per dollar in Ride A Pet?

Grass, by a wide margin: 500 XP for $10 is 50 XP per coin, against Bone at 6.7, Magic Apple at 0.04 and Dragonfruit at 0.03. Meat is priced at $30,000 but its XP value is not published, so it cannot be compared.

When should I rebirth in Ride A Pet?

When you can rebuild to your previous money level quickly, not merely when you can afford it. A rebirth takes your Coins and your temporary Luck Multiplier, so doing it too early means replaying progress you had already made.
